A most unusual large cabinet specimen of Baryte in Calcite from Hollandtwine mine, one of the many mines which worked Dirtlow Rake, a long mineralized east-west trending vein to the south of Castleton. The Baryte forms individual, pseudo-stalactitic tubes of concentrically banded cream, pink and tan through a groundmass of caramel brown massive Calcite. The Calcite does contain a few small vugs and in these can be seen the occasional Calcite crystal. The front and back faces have been cut and polished while the surrounding edges have been left in their natural state.
