During the early 1980’s, collectors local to Derbyshire undertook a lot of exploratory work in the Golconda mine, near to the village of Hopton, with the result of extracting many fine specimens. This small cabinet specimen is a great representative piece displaying bluish emerald green Aurichalcite crystals forming spherical clusters to 3 mm. There is also a rich coverage of colourless, glassy crystals of Hemimorphite on this mixed rusty gossan and creamy white massive Baryte matrix. The specimen was collected in 1981 and comes with two labels, both from the same collection.
