This wonderful specimen of deep apple-green Pharmacosiderite is from Wheal Gorland in the parish of Gwennap, a little east of Redruth in Cornwall.  Wheal Gorland has become one of the most romanticised mines in Cornwall and its incredible mineral specimens, especially the arsenates, are highly sought after.  Pharmacosiderite is a hydrated basic ferric arsenate and this miniature is a very fine and beautiful example of the species and for this mine.  An approximately 5 x 3 cm surface of a typical limonitic-Quartz veinstone is entirely covered with highly lustrous cubic crystals of up to 3 mm on edge and of deep and rich shades of sour apple-green and vary from translucent to transparent.  A superb Pharmacosiderite from the legendary Wheal Gorland mine in Cornwall, England.
