For the location, a rich small cabinet specimen of intergrown metallic golden Chalcopyrite crystals to around 3 mm, mostly covering botryoidal, white cockscomb Barite over a core of Calcite. This is a characteristic specimen from Ecton Mine (Deep Ecton Pipe) at Ecton in Staffordshire. A thin partial coating of light caramel brown Limonite covers, or is associated with, about 50 to 60% of the Chalcopyrite. A handsome specimen from Ecton mine, a locality from which specimens are infrequently for sale. It is accompanied with a large, 15 x 10 cm label (probably from a card index) from the A. Verzameling Collection, 1958 (no. 222-1) with the locality noted as Cumberland, Great Britain. This is clearly incorrect and is characteristically an Ecton specimen.
