Mendipite with Paralaurionite

ID: CC17725
A V-shaped mass of creamy-grey Mendipite with pale-lemon Paralaurionite, white Hydrocerussite and sky-blue patches of Diaboleite.  This classic suit of species is, unsurprisingly, from Torr Works quarry at Cranmore, Somerset, England, more familiarly known to collectors as Merehead quarry.  The Paralaurionite forms a 2 cm long patch within the Mendipite, which tapers from 1 cm wide to about 5 mm.  A splendid specimen from Torr Works quarry, famous for its rare suite of oxychloride minerals.  This specimen was collected around 1978.
