Serandite
ID:
CC17741
A classic salmon pink intergrown crystal of Serandite from the world famous Mont Saint-Hilaire quarry close to Montreal in Canada. The central prismatic crystal measures to 3.3 cm and is overgrown by several smaller Serandite crystals attached around its base. Encrusted over one face are micro-crystals of glassy Albite Feldspar and black Aegirine. The quarry is currently named Poudrette, although prior to the dividing wall being excavated, the separated section was named De Mix. This specimen is labelled MSH as the exact quarry was not originally noted. A great example of Serandite, probably Mont Saint-Hilaire’s most icon species. The specimen comes on a square acrylic base.
