A magnificent small miniature of classic Iron Rose Hematite with multiple-stacked hexagonal plates forming a concentric and concave petal-like structure. The Hematite is steely-black with a fantastic mirror-bright lustre and forms an asymmetric hexagon measuring 2.7 x 2.5 x 0.8 cm. The rose-like structure is perfect with no damage and stands elegantly on a matrix of Hematite, Orthoclase and sucrosic, deep olive-green Chlorite. Similar Chlorite also partly coats some outer faces of the Hematite plates. This excellent specimen is from the Cavradi Gorge in the Curnera Valley, Grischun, Switzerland, found in Alpine-type fissures occurring in the Permian and Carboniferous rocks.
