A beautiful rosette of the rare calcium-vanadium silicate Cavansite measuring 1.5 x 1.0 x 0.5 cm, perched on a lemon-tinged cream plate of micro-Stilbite crystals. This charming thumbnail is mounted on a small colourless acrylic base and is from the classic occurrence within the Wagholi Quarries of the Pune District (Poonah), in Maharashtra State, India. This locality has become so associated with Cavansite it is often thought to be its type locality, but that is in the USA. Translucent deep cyan-blue blades group to form the rosette which displays perfectly against the light cream Stilbite matrix.
