Boleite, a potassium-lead-silver-copper chloride is a much sort-after mineral species because of its superb blue colour, striking cubic habit and eye-catching bright lustre.  This lovely large thumbnail is from Boleite’s type locality at Santa Rosalía in Baja California Sur state, Mexico.  A deep inky blue, 5 mm cubic crystal sits within a greasy-white matrix of stacked, blocky Anglesite crystals, with a 2 mm cubic Boleite slightly lower down.  The Boleite, when caught in bright light, emits flashes of brilliant electric-blue.  A beautiful and choice miniature mounted on a small square acrylic base.
