Boleite, a potassium-lead-silver-copper chloride, is a much sort species because of its superb blue colour, striking cubic habit and eye-catching bright lustre. This lovely large thumbnail is from the Boleite type locality at Santa Rosalía in the Baja California Sur state of Mexico. A deep inky blue, 5 mm cubic crystal sits within a greasy-white matrix of stacked, blocky Anglesite crystals, with two 2 mm cubic Boleite crystals slightly lower down. The Boleite, when caught in bright light, emits flashes of brilliant electric blue. A beautiful and choice miniature mounted on a small square acrylic base.
