Hematite with Quartz, Adularia and Chlorite
ID:
CC17995
The combination of Hematite, Quartz, Adularia and Chlorite is a classic from this area of Switzerland, a country renowned for its excellent Alpine mineralisation. A splendid cluster of nested pseudohexagonal Hematite crystals measuring to 2.2 x 1.3 x 0.9 cm form a silver-graphite grey rosette perched on a stack of translucent colourless-pale grey Adularia crystals, the glassy and more gemmy variety of potassium Feldspar. These are lightly dusted with micro-crystalline cucumber-green Chlorite crystals and occasional colourless, terminated Quartz crystals. This delightful large thumbnail is from the Cavradi Gorge in the Curnera Valley, Switzerland and comes mounted on a small colourless acrylic base.
