Berbes Fluorite, from the mining district on the north-western coast of Spain, has become one of the world’s iconic fluorite localities and this small miniature is a beautiful representative example.  Gemmy violet-amethyst coloured Fluorite crystals to 1.5 cm on edge form a tight cluster with mirror-smooth faces and razor-sharp edges.  The Crystals show remarkable colour zoning, with alternating bands of light and deep lilac banding parallel to their faces.  This lovely Fluorite is mounted on a clear acrylic base.
