Rogerley mine in Weardale, northern England, has become famous among collectors the world over since the Greenbanks and Sutcliffes began specimen mining in the early 1970's.  This is a splendid mid-emerald green Fluorite with cubic crystals to 3 cm across and occurring as singles rather than twins.  The crystals range from transparent to translucent and exhibit magnificent bright blue daylight fluorescence.  The Fluorite crystals sit on an iron-stained Quartz matrix, one edge of which has been sawn.  This allows the specimen to stand at a slightly raked-back angle, perfect for display.  A very good Rogerley Fluorite with sharp-edged and part-gemmy crystals.
