Shattuckite with Malachite

ID: CC18248
Mid to light powder-blue acicular crystals of the copper silicate hydroxide Shattuckite, line an angular shaped geode formed from Shattuckite.  The overall geometry results from either a pseudomorph or the void space from within an angular breccia. Within the central void and surrounded by the Shattuckite is a glassy fan composed of dark emerald-green Malachite acicular crystals.  An attractive miniature from the small open pit workings at Kandesei on the Kaokoveld Plateau in Namibia.
