A gem quality, pastel cornflower blue prismatic hexagonal crystal of Aquamarine, the blue variety of Beryl, measuring to 6.5 cm with a little creamy white Feldspar around the prism base. The pinacoid termination is perfectly flat and smooth with a turquoise-blue frosting and a few conchoidal chips around the edges, although these are genuinely minor. The prism’s optical quality is exceptional, displaying perfect gemmy transparency, a prism through which fine print can be read with no difficulty at all. Only for the frosted ends, the length of the crystal would offer equal clarity. A true classic and beautiful Aquamarine from the Shigar Valley in Pakistan.
