This delightful small miniature/large thumbnail of the titanium dioxide Anatase on Faden Quartz is a Swiss classic, a characteristic example of Alpine-style mineralisation.  A composite group of steely deep blue Anatase crystals, of overall length 8 mm, perch on top of flattened Faden Quartz crystals to 2.1 cm wide and 0.8 cm deep, with the Faden line defined by finely disseminated, pale sage-green Chlorite inclusions.  The Anatase has a brilliant metallic lustre and despite its high reflectance giving a silver-black appearance, viewed under x5 magnification, its typical deep inky-blue can bee clearly seen.
