A fine small cabinet specimen of bright, silver metallic intergrown Galena crystals with cuboctahedral habit measuring to 1 cm from Blackdene mine by the village of Ireshopeburn in Weardale, County Durham.  A concentrated group of brilliantly lustrous crystals with very smooth faces form the display face while the rear of the specimen is coated in fine translucent Calcite crystals.  This specimen is from a large cavity in the Dib Incline on Slitt vein and was recovered in 1968 by miner Billy McGuire.  An excellent Galena with Calcite from Blackdene.
