Rhodochrosite with Quartz

ID: CC18653
A sublime hedgehog-like specimen of wonderfully crystallised Rhodochrosite forming semi-transparent to translucent scalenohedral crystals from the Uchucchacua mine in Oyon Province, Lima, Peru.  Almost completely covering the top oblong surface of a mixed ore and rock matrix, probably around one hundred, pink-strawberry terminated Rhodochrosite crystals, typically to about 1 cm tall, radiate outwards, interspersed with bright, glassy colourless Quartz crystals.  This again must be classed as a museum-grade specimen and will make a magnificent addition to the very finest of collections.  Wow, a super-mouth-watering Rhodochrosite!
