A weighty small cabinet specimen of creamy-colourless tabular crystals of Baryte and 1 to 4 mm cubic, brassy-gold Pyrite crystals, scattered over a 1 to 2 mm botryoidal surface of drusy micro-Quartz crystals. This terrific specimen is from Mount Wellington at Twelveheads near Truro, Cornwall, an old mine that was reopened and operated between 1976 and 1991. The underlying matrix is massive Chalcopyrite with probable Bornite, of mainly coppery-gold and large areas of iridescent peacock pinks and occasional light blue. The specimen comes with a Richard W. Barstow green stock label.
