Frazer’s Hush mine began life in the early 1970’s and for many years produced low grade Fluorite specimens form its upper workings.  After almost twenty years of production the mine reached rich mineralisation within the Great Limestone, a major stratigraphic unit in the Northern Pennine Orefield.  Here, wonderful specimens of highly lustrous glassy purple Fluorite were encountered, making the location an instant classic!  This beautiful specimen, covered in the smoothest and most glassy purple Fluorite crystals, contains slightly elongated cubes to 1.8 cm on edge with gemmy and translucent faces and frequent straw-yellow crazed cores.  In daylight the natural fluorescent is spectacular, turning all the crystals brilliant neon-purple!  A wonderful Frazer’s Hush Fluorite on a deep sea-green Fluorite matrix.
