Fluorite with Hematite

ID: CC18729
This beautiful semi-oval plate of superbly crystallised Fluorite is from Frohnau near the town of Annaberg-Buchholz in Saxony, Germany.  The Fluorite forms partly stepped cubic crystals to around 2 cm on edge and of a fantastic translucent deep apple-green with tones of sea-green.  Because the matrix is massive Fluorite of the same colour, when back-lit from beneath, the whole plate glows in mesmerising shades of zingy light to mid apple-green with lemon centres and red Hematite encrusted edges.  Need any more be said?  A gorgeous and delightful Fluorite from Saxony.
