ID: CC18758
A intergrown mass of lead-grey Galena, white Baryte and deep chocolate-brown Siderite crystals from the Clausthal-Zellerfeld region in Lower Saxony, Germany.  All three species are well crystallised, with the Galena forming modified-cubes up to 0.8 cm on edge.
Ex. the Mineral Collection of Archduke Stephan Franz Viktor of Hungary (1817 to 1867), with a historic Archduke (Erzherzog) Stephan label incorporating his coat of arms.  This label measures 8.5 x 4.0 cm and has been trimmed, so losing the bottom of the printed text and motif.  The specimen is numbered 476/79.  It is understood these labels were trimmed by curators at the Museum of Natural History of the Humboldt University in Berlin, to fit within their specimen boxes, after being bequeathed by Carl Rumpff’s widow in late 1889.  A Carl Rumpff label, dated 1889, is attached to the specimen.
