This lovely miniature Cuprian Smithsonite from the Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia is displayed perfectly, set just off-vertical on a square acrylic base.  Intergrown rhombic crystals averaging 0.7 to 1 cm on edge form a 3.6 x 4.5 cm plate covering a compact white quartzite matrix.  The Cuprian Smithsonite appears a uniform light apple green when viewed close to, yet from a normal viewing distance the rhombs vary from pale creamy peppermint face centres to mid-apple green edges.  A tremendous Cuprian Smithsonite from Tsumeb.
