Elbaite (Tourmaline) with Albite
ID:
CC18983
If you have been looking for a well priced and beautifully colour-zoned Tourmaline, then this Elbaite from Stak Nala in the Haramosh Mountains of Pakistan could be for you! Mounted on a bevelled colourless acrylic base, this 2.5 cm tall by 1.3 x 1.2 cm Elbaite prism grades from a semi-translucent deep bottle-green base through banded semi-transparent bright lime-green into delicate pink, then terminates with a scrumptious cornflower-blue cap. Wow, it is gorgeous. The prism faces are vertically striated, and the crystal terminates with a frosted shallow trigonal pyramid. Attached to one side is a roughly 1.5 x 1.0 x 0.8 cm fan of white Cleavelandite, the bladed variety of Albite Feldspar. A fabulous large thumbnail Elbaite crystal.
