This tall miniature Tourmaline from the Himalaya mine at Gem Hill in the Mesa Grande mining district of California is primarily pale gemmy lime green with a 5 mm deep pinkish-red graded termination ending in an intensely deep mauve cap, which appears almost black.  The crystal is unusual in being asymmetric in cross section, looking as if it has been split vertically downwards, with one face rounded and the opposite face flat.  A beautiful miniature Tourmaline from the classic Himalaya mine.
