Native Silver

ID: CC19049
A delightful and excellent example of fairly pure Native Silver from the Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia.  The Native Silver forms platelets to 1.6 x 0.9 cm over a mid-grey matrix of chalcocite-rich ore.  The Native Silver appears to be very pure indicating it is from the First Oxidation zone; Native Silver from deeper in the mine tends to be mercury-rich and hence a yellowish-golden tint.  A great specimen and example.
