An attractive miniature Pyromorphite from the Vojtěch mine in the Czech Republic. The geometry of the matrix has formed a narrow, elongated open pocket completely lined with a drusy coating of Pyromorphite ranging from light lime-green to lemon-mustard-yellow. This thick coating forms ribs of lustrous Pyromorphite with occasional sprays scattered over the surface. A beautiful Pyromorphite displaying several distinct habits from the Vojtěch mine. The history of this mine is noteworthy. It was begun in 1779 and became the first mine in the world to reach a depth of 1 km (3281 feet). The mine buildings still remain in an excellent state of preservation and the main Adalbert shaft is capped with a building more akin to a stately home than a mine. This is a beautiful miniature Pyromorphite from a historic locality, accompanied with the previous collector’s label.
