An extremely fine specimen and example of crystallized Native Bismuth from the St. Ives Consolidated Mines sett at St. Ives on the north coast of Cornwall.  Very little Native Bismuth was found here and these specimen all date from around 1800.  The specimen is pure Native Bismuth with no attached matrix or other minerals and the cleaved tin-white silver faces display slightly curved convex and concave surfaces.  Many of the cleaved faces have fine parallel striations and an occasional subtle blueish iridescence.  A super Native Bismuth from a rare Cornish locality.
