Topaz

ID: CC19267
A sharply terminated prismatic crystal of cornflower-blue Topaz from Virgem da Lapa, Minas Gerais, Brazil.  This off-matrix crystal is of exceptional colour with a bright glassy lustre, mirror-smooth termination faces and striated prism faces.  Please note one top corner of the termination is missing, showing a semi-conchoidal fracture.  Internally the crystal displays feathering and crazing closer to the faces, but the majority is clear and gemmy.  A very good example of Topaz from the Virgem da Lapa pegmatites.
