An outstanding Elbaite Tourmaline of the blue variety Indicolite from the Mutuca mine at Santa Rosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil.  An ex-matrix, single translucent crystal grades from a snow-white filiform base of acicular Tourmaline, variety Achroite, into a glassy translucent crystal of intense sea blue-green and rich indigo which darkens towards its termination.  Although a single crystal, it is a compound of multiple crystals in tight parallel growth and displays numerous terminations at different levels around the prism faces and stepped termination. A very aesthetic Indicolite from Minas Gerais.  This specimen comes with a custom-made clear acrylic display stand containing a milled profile of the crystal’s base.
