Analcime with Calcite
ID: CC19337
Dean quarry is adjacent to the coast on the far eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula, south Cornwall. This quarry has long produced a small suite of interesting minerals, some of which are zeolites. This lovely specimen has ten perfectly formed snowy-white Analcime trapezohedron crystals on a bed of colourless and clear Calcite crystals. Often the Analcime is fragile and somewhat weathered, but in this specimen the crystals are glassy, lustrous and vibrantly fresh.
