Quartz with Calcite

ID: CC19366
Cavnic mine in Romania is host to 36 mineral species and amongst these is Calcite, forming a bewildering range of habits, colours and variations.  This is a phenomenal specimen!  Standing almost 15 cm tall, a vertical, slightly splayed cluster of long and slender translucent milky Quartz crystals all gently taper towards steep-faced pyramidal terminations.  The Quartz terminations are distorted with alternating large and small faces, forming a pseudo-trigonal termination.  Stubby Quartz crystals of between 1 and 2 cm long branch out mainly horizontally and one entire side is preferentially coated with tiny saucer-shaped discs of snow-white Calcite.  This is an outstanding large cabinet size Quartz with Calcite from Cavnic mine, an aesthetic specimen which will display beautifully.
