Ramansdrift Farm 135 is almost as far south in Namibia as is possible to travel, sitting less than 10 km from the South African border.  The locality has become well known for its superb Amethyst Quartz  sceptres and this small miniature is a choice representative specimen.  Capping a hexagonal colourless Quartz prism is a roughly 3 x 2.5 x 2 cm multi- and double-terminated sceptre of intermixed deep inky amethystine purple with shades graduating towards pale lavender and colourless.  The various shades and colours form interwoven diaphanous clouds and wisps of great beauty.  Part of the prismatic column is encrusted with colourless, sucrosic granular Quartz.  A great specimen mounted vertically on a square acrylic base.
