Azurite with Duftite

ID: CC19432

While looking through lots of Azurite specimens from Tsumeb it would be easy to become somewhat blasé to their appeal.  If this were the case, then this stunning specimen would certainly remedy any such sentiment!  Fabulous deep azure-blue Azurite crystals with brilliant reflective faces densely cover a vibrant lime-leaf green microcrystalline matrix.  This is labelled as Duftite, but its colour and what appear to be possible pseudomorphs after mimetite suggest it to be Arsentsumebite.  Arsentsumebite was found with many fine Azurites during pillar recovery on 6 Level in 1989 and from the Easter pocket.  Neither of these locations in the mine are known to apply to this specimen, but circumstantial evidence is strong.  A total stunner and a genuine bargain at $500.
