A beautiful and most fascinating deep violet Fluorite from the Wölsendorf Fluorite mining district in Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany.  Lead mining in this area dates back to the 1400s, with the production of Fluorite beginning in the 1800s.  The Fluorite forms small cubic crystals, typically 6 to 8 mm on edge, which build-up on each other to form a towering rib of skeletal-like Fluorite crystals with intensely rich colouration and a very bright glassy lustre.  A delightful and eye-catching specimen.
