A most attractive miniature of the complex copper sulphide Djurleite, forming splendid intersecting acicular-type blades of metallic black, often with a subtle blue cast and slightly iridescent in places.  This specimen is from the Dzhezkazgan Mining District in Kazakhstan, an extensively mineralised deposit of Permian age.  The blades form herringbone patterns across some areas, giving the specimen an excellent aesthetic very worthy of display.
