Krennerite

ID: CC19537
This good sized-miniature is a wonderful example of the rare gold-silver telluride Krennerite and is from its type locality at Săcărâmb in Hunedoara County, Romania.  One entire side (measuring 7.7 cm x 2 to 3 cm wide) of a Quartz-Rhodochrosite matrix is pervaded by hundreds of small striated silvery-white-gold Krennerite crystals attractively coating cellular vuggy cavities lined with bright gemmy micro-crystals of Quartz.  This striking specimen is accompanied with three previous labels.
