A showy cabinet display specimen of brick-red Eisenkiesel Quartz totally enveloping a group of scalenohedral Calcite crystals. This terrific specimen is from Alberoda in the Schlema-Hartenstein District of Saxony, Germany, a former uranium deposit hosting seventy recognised mineral species. The Eisenkiesel forms a druse of sub-millimetre crystals all of which scatter light to give an overall sparkling shimmer. A great display specimen from Saxony.
