Long, colourless prismatic nail-head Calcite crystals to about 5 cm long occur as individual and fan-like sprays, mainly lying at a low angle to the flat, cream and dark grey massive Calcite matrix.  The nail-head crystals are hexagonal in cross section, with flat, etched and pitted pinacoid terminations. The basal and lower sections of most crystals are included with very dark grey to sooty black inclusions, probably finely divided sulphides.  An interesting and rather different Calcite from the Příbram mining district in the Czech Republic.
