A simply stunning and magnificent example of Andradite Garnet, forming interpenetrant rhombic dodecahedrons to 2.8 cm across with perfectly equant faces and symmetry. Although probably an intensely dark-green, the crystals appear blackish steel-grey with lustrous and gently stepped faces, growth development patterns and 1 to 2 mm diameter Andradite crystals scattered all over their surfaces. Sub-mm snow white acicular crystals are sparsely scattered over the garnets. A superb and rare miniature of Andradite Garnet from the Korshunovskoye iron deposit at Zheleznogorsk in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia.
