Quartz var. Smoky Quartz with Phantoms

ID: CC19678
A most aesthetic small cabinet specimen of quite gemmy Quartz crystals that range between clear Rock Crystal to delicately tinged Smoky Quartz.  From the now abandoned mines at Epprechtstein, Wei├čenstadt in Bavaria, Germany, the Quartz crystals can measure to a little over 4 cm long and up to 1 cm broad.  They form a complex intergrown mound, all with a bright glassy lustre; excellent terminations and are mainly transparent, many being quite gemmy.  Some crystals exhibit beautiful phantom crystals, occurring as single or multiple ghosts within the prism faces and some with a feint Amethystine tinge.  A beautiful specimen.
