Quartz var. Smoky Quartz with Phantoms
ID: CC19678
A most aesthetic small cabinet specimen of quite gemmy Quartz crystals that range between clear Rock Crystal to delicately tinged Smoky Quartz. From the now abandoned mines at Epprechtstein, Weißenstadt in Bavaria, Germany, the Quartz crystals can measure to a little over 4 cm long and up to 1 cm broad. They form a complex intergrown mound, all with a bright glassy lustre; excellent terminations and are mainly transparent, many being quite gemmy. Some crystals exhibit beautiful phantom crystals, occurring as single or multiple ghosts within the prism faces and some with a feint Amethystine tinge. A beautiful specimen.
