From the Cínovec-Zinnwald ore field which extends into both Germany and the Czech Republic, this Smoky Quartz crystal with Cassiterite on Zinnwaldite certainly arrests your attention because of its very different and striking appearance. A single, long slim Smoky Quartz crystal extends 4.5 cm out from the well crystallised matrix of silver bronze hexagonal plates of Zinnwaldite mica. Sparsely scattered on the Zinnwaldite are several small lustrous black Cassiterite crystals up to about 5 mm, some of which are twinned.
