• Fluorite

ID: CC19743
This large thumbnail Fluorite is from the Wölsendorf fluorite mining district in Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany, and is dominated by a 1.9 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm dark golden-honey translucent cubic crystal surrounded by similar but much smaller crystals. Towards the base of the crystals the Fluorite changes to an intensely dark blackberry-purple, resulting in a base that is almost black.  The main crystal contains slivers of metallic inclusions, making this a fascinating specimen.
