A beautifully aesthetic small cabinet specimen of teal-blue Baryte crystals on a thin oval bed of Hematite-stained Calcite, itself densely coated with small 1 to 5 mm Baryte crystals.  From the iron mining district around Frizington in west Cumbria, England, the Baryte forms flattened rhombohedral crystals of up to 2.8 cm on edge by 0.7 cm thick, the backs and aligned edges stained a reddish-brown through finely disseminated Hematite inclusions.  The Rhombic crystals stand vertically on the matrix, giving them a lozenge-shaped appearance and are attractively crazed parallel to cleavage.  A terrific specimen.
