Chalcopyrite var. Blister Copper
ID: CC19831
A lovely example of Blister Copper, the botryoidal variety of Chalcopyrite from one of the rarer Cornish localities at St. Agnes, on the coast to the north of Redruth. The botryoids average 2 to 4 mm in diameter and have a most attractive metallic black to tarnished bronze patina; even the base is covered with such crystals. The Chalcopyrite overgrows a micro-crystalline Quartz matrix with rare euhedral Quartz crystals. The specimen comes with three previous labels.
