ID: CC19841
A mainly water-clear, transparent, and colourless Quartz crystal with a tabular habit and subtle yet distinct feathered Faden line through its vertical axis.  Hexagonal in cross section, the crystal has developed highly flattened, measuring 6.5 x 3.5 x 1.0 cm.  The term Faden comes from the German for ‘thread” and the name Faden Quartz is the anglicized from Fadenquartz.  The back of the termination has natural contact damage from in-situ, which is not visible when displayed.  An excellent off-matrix Faden Quartz from the North Waziristan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in Pakistan.
