This rich and attractive Wurtzite is so characteristic of specimens from the Příbram mining district in the Czech Republic, containing a broad radiating crystal aggregate of between 4 and 4.5 cm diameter. The circular structure of Wurtzite needles lies flat against a light fawn, dolomitic matrix and is surrounded by more granular and platy Wurtzite. Wurtzite is a polymorph of Sphalerite, meaning it has the same chemical composition (formula) but a different atomic structure. It is a choice example of this zinc-iron sulphide from the Příbram mining district.
