Quite stubby and chunky scalenohedral Calcite crystals of between 1.5 to almost 3 cm tall form a tightly developed long-narrow group from the Vrančice area within the Příbram mining district of the Czech Republic. The crystals, due to their squat geometry, clearly exhibit the flattened rhombohedral habit in their three-face terminations. The Calcite is milky-white, yet this is mainly obscured by a pervasive dusting of blackish to dark chocolate-brown sulphides.
