More a small fingernail than thumbnail specimen of beautifully crystallised Acanthite, attached to a thin sliver of crystallised Quartz matrix from Freiberg in Saxony, Germany. The Acanthite, a low temperature silver sulphide, forms six well developed crystals, the largest measuring 8 mm in overall length. All crystals form as black metallic elongated octahedrons with surface growth features and a patchy bright lustre. This specimen is accompanied with a pervious collection’s label.
