Fluorite
ID:
CC20029
Over the past twenty years, the Yaogangxian mine in Hunan Province, China has become a modern-day classic for fine and rare mineral specimens, amongst which is its spectacular Fluorite. This superb large thumbnail comprises of a part-gemmy purple Fluorite cube with a 1.8 x 1.8 cm square display face, with four adjacent sides of up to 1 cm deep. The crystal has not developed beyond this limit where it is attached to a thin layer of opaque silver Mica crystals, milky-white Calcite plates and a small colourless Quartz crystal. The Fluorite is a stunning translucent to semi-transparent violet-purple with dark purple edges and delicately swirled internal clouds of Fluorite in varying hues of violet. This is a gorgeous Fluorite and a specimen that will standout due to it colour, bright glassy lustre and crispness of habit.
