An off-matrix, perfect, highly aesthetic gemmy golden Calcite twin from the famed Elmwood mine at Carthage in Smith County, Tennessee.  Although completely colourless, the overall crystal transmits stunning hues of golden-champagne when rotated in good light.  Two scalenohedral crystals are twinned in the centre with their re-entrant angled faces superbly displayed, forming a single twin 5.8 cm long.  All faces are mirror-smooth allowing the gemmy, totally transparent interior complete exposure.  A wonderful small miniature twinned calcite from Elmwood mine mounted on a square colourless acrylic base.
